Step into a Creative and Profitable Craft! This programme provides practical training in the design and production of quality footwear using leather and other suitable materials. Students learn footwear design principles, material selection and production techniques for different shoe styles. Practical sessions include pattern drafting, material cutting, stitching, sole attachment, finishing, polishing and quality inspection. Trainees also learn footwear measurement, repair techniques, equipment maintenance and product costing for commercial production. Upon completion, graduates will be able to produce durable, attractive and comfortable footwear for various market needs. The programme supports employment opportunities and successful entrepreneurship within the leather and fashion industries.
Mandatory Skills Qualification (MSQ): completing this skill alongside your ND/HND earns you a National Skills Qualification (NSQ) certificate, per NBTE requirements for all polytechnic graduates.
