About This Skill

Create Beauty Products That Inspire Confidence! This programme trains students in the production of personal care products and basic cosmetic formulations for domestic and commercial markets. Trainees learn product formulation, ingredient selection and safe manufacturing practices. Practical sessions cover the production of bathing soap, liquid soap, antiseptic soap, creams, lotions, body scrubs, petroleum jelly, detergents and other household and cosmetic products. Students also learn packaging, branding, product preservation and quality assurance. Upon completion, graduates will be capable of producing safe, attractive and marketable cosmetic products while developing practical entrepreneurial skills. The programme offers excellent opportunities for self-employment and small-scale manufacturing.
Mandatory Skills Qualification (MSQ): completing this skill alongside your ND/HND earns you a National Skills Qualification (NSQ) certificate, per NBTE requirements for all polytechnic graduates. Choose it as a vertical skill if it matches your core course of study, or horizontal if it's in a different field entirely.
