Trainees learn harvesting methods, processing stages and quality assurance practices. Practical sessions involve fruit sterilisation, threshing, digestion, pressing, clarification, kernel recovery, storage and packaging. Students also learn equipment operation, waste utilisation, hygiene standards and efficient production methods for small- and medium-scale processing facilities. Upon completion, graduates will be able to establish and manage profitable oil palm processing enterprises while producing quality products that meet market demands. The programme supports agribusiness development, rural employment and value addition within the agricultural sector.
Mandatory Skills Qualification (MSQ): completing this skill alongside your ND/HND earns you a National Skills Qualification (NSQ) certificate, per NBTE requirements for all polytechnic graduates.
