Get Your Hands on Real Vehicle Repairs! This programme provides comprehensive practical training in vehicle inspection, servicing and repair for modern petrol and diesel automobiles. Students learn the functions of engine, transmission, suspension, braking, steering and electrical systems while developing safe workshop practices. Practical activities include engine oil servicing, brake pad replacement, suspension repairs, battery testing, alternator and starter diagnosis, cooling system maintenance, wheel alignment checks and the use of diagnostic tools for fault detection. Students also learn how to interpret service manuals, carry out preventive maintenance and identify common mechanical and electrical problems. Graduates will be able to perform routine vehicle servicing, troubleshoot common automotive faults and carry out basic repairs with confidence and professionalism. The programme prepares participants for employment in automotive workshops, fleet maintenance operations or self-employment as vehicle technicians.
Mandatory Skills Qualification (MSQ): completing this skill alongside your ND/HND earns you a National Skills Qualification (NSQ) certificate, per NBTE requirements for all polytechnic graduates.
