Shape Timber into Lasting Creations! This programme introduces students to the art and science of woodworking, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern construction techniques. Trainees learn the properties of timber, safe workshop practices and the correct use of hand and power tools. Practical training includes measuring and marking, cutting, planing, joint making, furniture construction, roofing, cabinet making, door and window fabrication and wood finishing. Students also learn project planning, material estimation and quality control for residential and commercial woodworking projects. By the end of the course, graduates will be capable of producing quality furniture and structural woodwork, carrying out repairs and managing carpentry projects. The programme prepares participants for employment in construction firms or successful self-employment as skilled carpenters and furniture makers.
